Taxco Los Castillos Silver Pitcher. A beautiful example of handmade Mexican silversmithing, we have owned this piece for decades. A mid century design executed in the 1980s, it is stamped on the underside of the base "Taxco", "Hecho en Mexico", and "Plateado 383". The parrot handle is malachite and silver, and some blue highlights/hues would perhaps indicate the presence of lapis lazuli as well. The pitcher does have 3 dents in the base - please see the closeup photo in the portfolio above. 10" Tall, 5 1/2" Wide. The pitcher is heavy, and silver plated. A really nice piece!
