    Description

    This older
    Mayan calendar wall hanging plate
    offering is from my own collection & is one of my favorites due to the beauty and condition. The piece is most likely silver plated. It measures 7-7/8" in diameter. Some are larger, some are smaller.
    This example is in awesome condition, without any missing or damaged abalone shell that has been carefully cut and applied to the outer circle. Looks like about 18 individual pieces that are perfectly fitted. I can only guess at how many hours of handwork was involved to complete the piece. The stamping detail is amazing. The silver face is nice and smooth & is not corroded. Soldered to the back is the little tab with a hole for hanging with the words:
    MEXICO/ ALPACA.
    No other markings. 12 pictures.
