    Description

Los Castillo brothers created the technique of fusing mixed metals to create jewelry and objects of art. This large, Los Castillo, tray is a fine example of the 1950's mid century modernist abstract art from their taller. the tray combines hand hammered, heavy copper jointed with nickel, brass and aluminum. The rectangular shape measuring approx. 17 3/4"x 11 3/4", has rounded corners and a slightly upward and turned lip border. The reverse pattern is identical to the top. Bottom is stamped Los Castillo, Taxco, Metales Castillo, Handwrought #95. The tray is in very good condition with old patina and could use a professional buff.
