Hand hewed, these rustic wooden dough boards(bateas) are solid and great looking.  The food safe bowls will have a shine on them when you receive them, but with time and use, that will fade away. So keep that in mind. The photo is a representation on what you will receive. Please take note of the dimensions here in the description. We will also have the longer one listed as well. This measures about 4-6 wide x 20-22" long. The depth on this beautiful bowl is about 2-3 inches. Please take note of the dimensions here in the description. If you prefer a certain size (only within the size parameters I have listed), then let us know as soon as you order and we do our best to fill that request. We have had a lot of requests for bowls that are food safe. Happy to say we have finally done that. We have added 4 coats of food safe sealer to these bowls. The patina we achieve on them is beautiful. NOTE: Please understand that these bowls are a natural handmade product and will never be "perfect" That is what makes them rustic and beautiful.
