We are delighted to offer this very rare vintage hand carved golden black obsidian crystal and obsidian rock crystal Mayan Aztec chess set. These rich black natural volcanic glass pieces feature an iridescent gold shimmer when exposed to direct light. The obsidian stone is said to be an excellent source for removing negativity. The rock crystal obsidian pieces offer a stunning contrast to the deep black pieces. All the pieces are finished with a high sheen, smooth gloss. Each piece represents its own unique, museum quality sculpture. The king measures approximately 3.8” high. The set is gently used with minimal nicks. It comes with the case that was with it at the time of purchase, which may not be original to the set. The hinged lid opens to reveal a wood lined interior with a clean space for storage. The chessboard is not included in this auction.
